Welcome to Tildy's Room
Welcome to Tildy's Room!
My name is Karen and my work is inspired by my life in Australia, Bermuda and the beautiful British coastline and our wonderful villages and sea side towns. The inspiration for my little wooden houses originates from the wonderful years I spent living in Bermuda in a beautiful 200 year old limestone cottage and the pretty and the colourful houses dotted around the island.
Using driftwood, reclaimed wood and recycled/ found objects I create beautiful art pieces for your home. Incorporating the skills of wood work, painting, needle felting, embroidery, wire work and metal stamping I ensure there is a one of a kind individuality in each piece.
I am into my sixth year of independantly running Tildy's Room full time and for many years before that as a hobby with occasional craft fair attendance. I do still attend craft fairs and details can be found here on my Events page and on my social media pages (links below).
I continue to be inpsired during our family trips around Yorkshire and further afield from picturesque villages to our wonderful coastal towns. I embellish each scene with twisted wire work, whether it be a bicycle, trees or telegraph poles! The finishing touches are carefully selected cottons and linens or my hand felted trees to soften the scene and add new textures.
